This is the best Old Brown Java I’ve ever bought, I’ve been drinking nothing else for years, started having the beans but am getting a little lazy in my old age and buy it ready ground, it doesn’t lose any flavour, rich, dark but not at all bitter, a lovely chocolatey finish, one of life’s little pleasures.

This review is for the coffees rather than the service. The service was good. I ordered six coffees, none of which had I tried before so I kept a review of each one after I'd finished the packet. I'm looking for a delicious coffee I can stick with and order more of on-line, because as I'm shielding I rely heavily on on-line purchases for everything. Old Brown Java: Quite strong with some bitterness, but lacking good coffee flavour 4/10.

What an excellent way to move up from supermarket coffee! Tried Dominican (a little uninspiring for me), Old Brown Java (obviously high quality coffee, but just too "in-your-face" for my taste), Kenya Peaberry (very good) and Guatamala Maragogype Dark Medium which is just what I was looking for, so smooth and full of flavour. As the only one who drinks coffee in the household, the 100g bags worked well for keeping it fresh until needed. The ordering process was easy, delivery was prompt, overall a great experience!

Amazing service, well packed and rapid shipping. All coffee was really Roasted and ground to the a great espresso consistency. Really good quality coffee, used a few bags filling nespresso pods to great effect. Worked out at 14p a Pod doing it this way. Would definitely recommend to friends a d family.

A very unusual coffee. You can really taste that musky flavor mentioned, just like its been in an old wooded ships hold for seven years! I'm struggling to decide whether I prefer this Old Brown Java or the Indian Monsoon Malabar (Extra Strong). This is a tad sweeter and slightly less bitter but both are delicious, strong, with a beautiful aroma and make an excellent Cappuccino........ I may alternate between the two :)

As a coffee drinker for over forty years, I'd like to say your Old Brown Java (which I recently ordered) is probably the finest of its type I have tasted. None of the artisan roasters here in Edinburgh will roast darkish like yours. I found it very interesting you make clear don't pull coffees from stock, but roast fresh. I must be old fashioned, having used a Bialetti Moka pot for at least thirty five years. I look forward to ordering again from your company.

Old Brown Java is my favourite bean that I've tried from this website so far, and indeed probably the best coffee I've ever had. Makes a lovely americano from a hand grinder and aeropress. Not as oily/waxy as other beans, so cleaning utensils is even easier too!

Having tried a few different coffees from this retailer and others, Old Brown Java has been my favourite so far.

It's rich and strong, and nice and smooth made through an Aeropress. I've recently bought a grinder, so hopefully my latest purchase of unground beans will be even fresher and tastier than last time.
